eBlast 201019

October 19, 2020

Dear members of District 16 RTOERO:

I am sending you this E-blast today to let you know of a significant development and ask for your support. If you click the link below, you will find a letter which District 16 sent to the Premier and other important officials. This letter is modeled on one sent by Martha Foster on behalf of the entire RTOERO membership. The letter concerns the establishment of a Seniors’ Advocate for the province of Ontario.  Such a position would go a long way in providing a voice for Seniors in the legislature to advocate on behalf of all Seniors in areas such as long term care homes, elder abuse, national health standards for older persons and many more. The Seniors’ Advocate role is being proposed through a private members’ bill. Such bills often don’t make it to a vote therefore RTOERO and I believe that the more attention and support this bill gets from the public, the better the chances of actually seeing it done. In politics  numbers matter!

So, if you are able and willing, take my letter, personalize it, and send it to Doug Ford and anyone else on the list at the end of this E-Blast. During these difficult times, there isn’t much we can do to actively  help one another and make our voices heard; Here is something you can do right from home.

Kind Regards,

Barbara Antheunis
President, Toronto District 16
