Who We Are

Since 1973, RTOERO Toronto District 16 has provided excellent programs and services for its members (teachersschool and board administrators, educational support staff, childhood educators, child care professionals and college and university faculty/employees) in retirement. After more than 50 years, member-volunteers continue to provide information and activities to our over 5,000 members ranging in age from 50 to over 100. (RTOERO's total membership is over 80,000.)

Toronto District 16 was originally created to serve retirees from the pre-1997 legacy Toronto Board of Education. Since the amalgamation of the public school boards (1997), our membership extended across Canada to British Columbia and Newfoundland and the Yukon. We have about 15 members residing in the United States and overseas.

In 2020, RTOERO established additional district in The Prairies/District 49, Quebec/ECHO District 51, and The Maritimes/Atlantic District 50 and many of our members transferred there.

Visit our Activities Page to see those offered by our many volunteers and contact the convenors for additional details.

...and, if you have a special skill and would like to offer your leadership abilities to fellow retirees, just use the Contact Page to get in touch.
